Principal’s Statement

Paparoa Street School is a learning community of approximately 600 children and over 50 staff, who each bring kindness, confidence, and a positive attitude to school every single day of the year. This makes this large school feel like a connected family where relationships are valued, and conversations are warm and positive.

The school operates four syndicates, and these teams plan and work together closely. The school has developed an impressive reputation for its various programmes, and the school roll has grown substantially in recent years. Now we are managing enrolment very carefully to avoid overcrowding, and at this present time only children who reside within the school's home zone may enrol. Siblings of presently enrolled children must apply for a place in the school's ballot for out-of-zone places in order to attend.

The school is in the middle of an exciting building refurbishment, and we look forward to opening our new junior block around the middle of 2010. This development will nicely complement the new information centre and school hall.

If you are considering Paparoa Street School for your children, we urge you to make an appointment and enjoy a tour of the school. Our people are our best advertisement, and we invite you to come and see them for yourselves.
